Brailleador es una herramienta muy simple para practicar escribir braille online. La idea es que funcione parecido a una máquina Perkins Brailler, basado en lo poco que entendí de un video de 3 minutos en YouTube sobre cómo funciona una Perkins Brailler.

No es muy útil, porque el braille solo funciona en superficies con relieve, pero es mucho más barato que una Perkins Brailler. Tampoco es muy didáctico, porque da por sentado que ya sabés lo básico del alfabeto.

El abecedario básico braille es internacional, pero los signos de puntuación y diacríticos están configurados con el estándar en castellano. Seguro hay algunos que me faltaron.

CONTROLES

• CLIC en la herramienta para empezar
• Las teclas S-D-F y J-K-L ingresan los puntos 3-2-1 y 4-5-6
• ESPACIO ingresa un… espacio
• La tecla RETROCESO elimina la última letra ingresada
• La tecla SUPRIMIR elimina todo el texto
• La tecla M activa y desactiva la lectura en voz alta

COSAS QUE FALTAN

• Signos de puntuación pendientes
• Cambiar el idioma estándar
• Copiar texto al portapapeles
• Tener ganas de agregar estas cosas

Brailleador is a very simple tool to practice typing Braille online. The idea is for it to work like a Perkins Brailler typewriter, based on what little I understood from a 3-minute video on YouTube about how a Perkins Brailler works.

It isn’t very useful, since Braille only works on surfaces with tactile textures, but it’s a lot cheaper than a Perkins Brailler. It also isn’t very didactic, since it assumes you’re familiar with the basic alphabet.

The basic Braille alphabet is international, but punctuation signs and diacritics are set up according to the Spanish language standard. I’m sure I missed some.

CONTROLS

• CLICK on the tool to start
• The S-D-F and J-K-L keys input the dots 3-2-1 and 4-5-6
• SPACEBAR enters a… space
• Backspace deletes the last letter
• Delete deletes the entire text
• The M key toggles sound

MISSING STUFF

• Copying text to clipboard
• Me wanting to implement any of this stuff
